MindNode is an easy-to-use application for Mac that, in its free version, enables you to create basic mind maps, the kind that don't require connections between nodes on different branches.

It's quite simple to create a new node on MindNode. Next to each node is a plus sign, and clicking it will attach a new node to the first.

Remove ads and more with Turbo

You can outline as many mind maps as you like on MindNode's drawing board. There aren't any limitations on nodes, either.

You can then export your mind maps into various formats, including: PDF, PNG, TIFF, OPML, HTML, and RTF.
